Arteen Furteens is an Arts Group run by youths aimed at promoting Arts in the Heartlands. Through the use of various community out-reach events and programs that incorporates Arts, we aim to culture a strong interest in the Arts amongst our youths and residents. We believe that instead of bringing people to the Arts, we should bring Arts to the people.
With this aim in mind, AFT, in collaboration with the Jelutung CC and various Resident’s Committees, runs events and projects within Sembawang itself that promotes various forms of Art. From Stage plays to Musicals, Fashion shows to Graffiti Walls, there are no boundaries we won’t cross.
We started off with our flagship project that was showcased this year March; CinderElla: Revamped, a modern day version of the well-known fairy tale. With an engaging storyline, stunning choreography and witty acting, CinderElla: Revamped was a success, launching AFT into the limelight.
Since then, AFT has run other projects geared towards community and youths, its unique and fresh ideas making it stand out from other similar groups. With our next big projects already on the way out, there’s only more fun and discovery to come.
With a never-ending amount of enthusiasm and creativity, there is not knowing where we will go next. But one thing’s for sure…
